Newsletter 51, September 2022

It was with deep sadness that the Committee of the Friends of St Peter’s heard the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We were pleased to be able to join with other churches around the United Kingdom at noon on the 9th September in tolling our bell in remembrance of her life.

If you would like leave your condolences, there is a Book of Condolence at St Peter’s Church, available during opening hours.

We are also pleased that we were able to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with many of you in June. It was a beautiful day, with friends and supporters joining us for tea, cake, music and conversation. To finish the afternoon we welcomed Brighton Morris Men for their last dance of what must have been an exhausting weekend for them!

In other news, St John’s Church has kindly donated some of their chairs to replace some of our more rickety ones! Sitting should be safer this autumn.

And as the we move into the autumn, we hope to see you at some at the events taking place at St Peter’s:
