Churchyard Plan now displayed in the Church

We have recently displayed a copy of the churchyard plan that was developed in the early 1990’s by the Sussex Family History Group along with a list of the inscriptions and names recorded on the stones.

We are also embarking on a project to re-record and photograph all the monuments in the churchyard and church of St Peters, Preston Park.

We would also like to research the lives of those buried or memorialised in the church and churchyard to discover the fascinating stories held within.

It will certainly be a monumental task, so we are appealing for volunteers to help with any aspect of the survey and all help will be gratefully received.

In order to maintain consistency and accuracy, we have provided a resource area on the website with guide sheets for taking photographs of the monuments and submitting them to the project.

If you would like to help, then please visit the Monumental Survey page.

Thank you!
