Churchyard Plan now displayed in the Church

We have recently displayed a copy of the churchyard plan that was developed in the early 1990’s by the Sussex Family History Group along with a list of the inscriptions and names recorded on the stones. We are also embarking on a project to re-record and photograph all the monuments in the churchyard and church of St Peters, Preston Park. We would also like to research the lives of those buried or memorialised in the church and churchyard to discover the fascinating stories held within. It will certainly be a monumental task, so we are appealing for volunteers to help with any aspect of the survey and all help will be gratefully received. Hello everyone! Our wonderful Churchyard volunteer gardening team of seven people are hoping that one or two more would like to join them. You don’t have to be ultra fit or have a super knowledge of gardening! George, who is the Preston Manor Gardener, knows how things need to be done, and it’s such a happy, friendly group, that anyone who likes to be out of doors would find it worthwhile to go along to the churchyard on a Thursday morning between 10am and 12noon, and have a chat.
